Keep it clean!

I was so excited to find out that this year, the municipality of Kassandra in cooperation with the Civil Protection Service and the Hellenic Rescue Team (Kassandra Branch) completed the first trial of beach cleanup (seashore and seabed).
Earlier this May, Siviris and Pefkohori were cleaned and then yesterday, Nea Fokea followed.

Divers of Hellenic Rescue Team (Kassandra Branch) volunteered to clean the seabed from trash and debris, while the primary school pupils of Nea Fokea responsibly cleaned the coast

Mayor of Kassandra Vassilis Kyritsis, pointed out that other than the obvious purpose of cleaning, this action is important in order to inform and educate.

The beach is much more than what we experience during the summer. The seabed the seashore are important and should be considered and taken into account when we exit the beach. 

The President of the Tourism Committee of the Municipality of Kassandra Maria Papadimitriou thanked everyone that participated and shared a message: "Kassandra is beautiful but should be just as clean"
